Location, Location, Location...

Nope, we're not talking about the lovely little show Location, Location, Location - we're strictly talking about our movie location. We decided that Birnbeck Pier (also known by others as 'The Old Pier') was the prime location for our main scenes. It's in our local town and is the perfect setting for a horror/thriller opening sequence. At night it's dimly lit, quiet and derelict. Our main protagonist, Charles will find himself driving to this spot and walking along the beach walls to the pier. 
On a nice day we went out and took some snaps of the location:

This shot is were Charles will pull up and park his car before leaving on his walk.

These next couple of shots is the route Charles will take when walking towards Birnbeck Pier.

Below is Marine Lake, the location just before the rock beach before Birnbeck. If we run out of time or have filmed to much footage this will be where we start his walking sequence.

Above is where we're planning on trying out the reveal of the 'ghost' girl here. It's a decent spot, quiet and away from public.

Above is another shot we're debating on whether to take. It's the small bridge crossing from one side of the lake to the other, leading to some newly built apartments. It's a gap between the lake and the sea. However as we're shooting at night this could be particularly dangers as the water occasionally laps over the brudge, thus risking injury and technical equipment.

Here is another place which we thought could look effective when revealing the 'ghost' girl. It's more high up giving us leeway for more creative angles and it's away from the tide too, risk lowered!

Lastly an ending shot. This would be ideal to either introduce the audience to his new location after walking or to pan away from him and cut to a new scene. Which to decide, will be made on the day of editing and filming.

Overall it was a productive day and lots of information has been passed around. I feel our images are clear and achievable and the location is in prime area of reach and effectiveness.
